How To Reduce The Smell When Smoking Weed
There are numerous reasons why people love smoking weed. From the most obvious to the little-known benefits that the substance provides, it is no secret why the drug has stayed relevant for so many years.
Among all of the various methods that enthusiasts use to consume the product, smoking is one of the most popular. This is because not much effort is required to do so; it is essentially the easiest way to experience the desired effects.
The only problem is the smell that marijuana gives off in doing so. Not only will it emit an immediate odor, but it can soak into clothing and furniture, leaving a stench that is hard to get rid of when the fun is over. Fortunately, there are some helpful tricks from the experts that you can use to reduce the smell the next time you smoke cannabis.
Use a Sploof
When stuffing a towel under the door to mask the scent of marijuana went wrong, weed smokers came up with an alternative solution to this common problem: sploofs.
A sploof is a small, hand-held tool that contains a filter to disperse the smoke, getting rid of the smell. To use one of these devices, you simply exhale into the opening and watch it disappear.
This is a desirable solution, being that these products are not difficult or expensive to acquire. While most are not small enough to carry around in your pocket, they won’t take up much space in your bedroom.
Several brands offer great sploofs, but there are a few that have a cult-following in the stoner community. Among these favorites is the Smokebuddy. These can be purchased in a wide range of colors and will last for several months before requiring a replacement.
Make a DIY Weed Filter
For the last-minute situations when you don’t have access to one of these devices, it is helpful to have a DIY solution up your sleeve that will produce similar results. Depending on what kinds of supplies you have access to, there are a few different ways that you can do this.
The basic idea of a homemade weed filter is to build an object that you can blow smoke into to mask the smell, just like a sploof. The main component should be a long tube, something like a paper towel roll.
Once you have that, you will need something at the end to catch the smoke. Stack a few scented dryer sheets on top of each other and secure them at the end of the tube with a rubber band.
For additional protection, it helps to stuff more dryer sheets through the opening of the roll. You can also cover the end with a tube sock to create an extra layer.
Smoke Out of a Vaporizer
Instead of trying to mask the smell of smoking marijuana through a paper or pipe, you can use a vaporizer. This is a desirable solution because you can take it with you almost anywhere, without being so obvious.
Since vapes and vape pens do not produce large clouds of smoke, you can rest assured that you are not creating an unpleasant aroma around you.
Smoke Outside
While the previously explained solutions for avoiding the smell of marijuana can be effective, they can also be a lot to deal with when you are trying to kick back and relax. Instead of purchasing a specialized device to smoke with or rummaging through your household items to create a DIY solution, you can do it the old fashioned way and smoke outside.
Since smoking cannabis is now legal in many states, the risk of stepping out onto your porch or balcony is virtually eliminated. At the very least, you could sit by the window and exhale outside to get rid of the smell.
